What do I need to hire a car?

In order to hire a car the following documents are required:

  • Valid driving license held for at least one year.
  • An international driving license is required for all renters that are not citizens of the European Union or who do not have a European drivers permit.

What is included in the price?

  • Unlimited mileage

  • 24hours road assistance
  • Map of Corfu
  • Babyseat /Booster
  • C.D.W. (Collision damage waiver)
  • All taxes (24% VAT)

Is there an age limit for a driver to hire a car?

In order to hire a car the driver’s minimum age must be at least 23 years old. The driver must also hold the driving license for at least one year.

How can I reserve a car?

You can reserve a car through our online system or by contacting us.

Can I ferry the car?

Cars cannot be ferried without a special written permit from Zetacars.

How can I pay?

You can either pay by cash or credit card. (We accept VISA and MasterCard.)

Can I book a specific car model?

All cars are reserved by car category and not by car model (please see our Terms & Conditions).  In case you need a certain type of car, please contact us and we will do our best to meet your requirements.

How will I find you at the airport/port/hotel?

A Zetacars representative will be waiting for you at the agreed meeting point at the agreed or expected time holding a sign showing our company’s name and your name.

Can I modify/cancel my reservation?

In case you need to modify/cancel your reservation, please contact us at least 24 hours before.

What should I do if I have problems with my car?

Our company provides you with 24 hours road service so in case of a breakdown you can call us at +30 26610 24000 or +30 6956 288 610 for assistance.

Condition of Use

The said vehicle is forbidden to be used:

  • for any illegal transport of items or goods or for any purpose violating the Greek laws.
  • to carry passengers or property for a consideration express or implied.
  • to propel or tow any trailer vehicle.
  • in motor sports events(including racing, pace making, rallying, reliability trials and speed testing)
  • by any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • out of Corfu without the written advance authorization of Zetacars.

Number Of Passengers

All vehicles are insured for the appropriate maximum number of passengers. Please ensure that you choose a vehicle suitable for the size of your party.

No insurance coverage is valid:

  • If the driver of the vehicle is unauthorized by Zetacars and therefore not included as a driver in the rental agreement.
  • When the driver causes an accident under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
  • When the car is not returned on date and time of return
  • When the car is driven with a flat tire
  • When the driver violates the Greek Traffic Law by driving fast and recklessly
  • If the car has been driven on non asphalt paved roads, taking part in car races or other illegal activities.
  • If the driver doesn’t take all the necessary precaution measures for secure parking and locking of the car.
  • If the car is illegally parked.
  • If the vehicle is damaged or stolen by renter’s culpability or negligence, the renter will be liable, up to the total car’s commercial value at the time of accident or theft.
  • Damage caused intentionally or by negligence.
  • Damage caused as a result of a breach of the rental agreement’s terms and conditions.
  • Damage caused while the rental car was on board ship.

Personal Belongings/ Valuables

Zetacars is not liable for personal belongings / valuables that were stolen / lost from the vehicle or damaged during an accident.

In case of an accident

In case of an accident or any other incident the renter must contact Zetacars immediately at +30 26610 24000 or +30 6956 288610. The renter can follow the insurance procedure by taking photos of the accident, obtaining names and addresses of eye-witnesses as well as the name and the addresses of the driver and the data of the vehicle which the rental vehicle may have collided with. The renter shall call the police if necessary and shall not accept any responsibility or fault for the accident, until the police have found the guilty party.

Loss or damage of key

In case of loss or damage of car key during the rental period, the renter will be charged accordingly for the replacement.

Traffic Violation Fines

The renter expressly acknowledges personal liability to pay all fines and court costs for parking, traffic or other violation of the Greek Traffic Law, assessed against the rental vehicle during the period of the rental agreement.

Ferrying the car

The renter is not allowed to ferry the rental vehicle unless there is a special written permit by Zetacars. Please note that any damage caused to the vehicle during transit will be not covered by any insurance.

Babyseats/ Boosters

Babyseats and boosters are free of charge and will be available only upon request.

GPS/ Navigation System

GPS navigation system is available upon request at the cost of € 5 per day.

Fuel Policy

Fuel is always paid by the renter. The renter is obliged to return the rental vehicle with the same level of fuel as when the rental period began otherwise the renter will be charged respectively. Zetacars does not give refunds for excess fuel.

Vehicle return

The renter agrees to return the vehicle with all accessories, tools and equipment and in the same condition at the location, time and date designated in the agreement, otherwise the renter will be responsible to compensate Zetacars in addition to the normal rental charge. The renter will be charged according to Zetacars price-list in case he delivers or abandons the rental vehicle to any place other than the specified on the agreement, as well as the fuel costs from the place of return to the place the rental has started. Zetacars reserves the right to take back the vehicle at any time without demand at renters expense if the vehicle is used in violation of the rental agreement.

Fleet Availability

Zeta Cars reserves the right to provide the renter with a different car model to that originally reserved of an equivalent or higher model type. Cars are reserved by car category and not by car model. In case the renter needs a certain type of car he shall contact us.

Regarding Delays

In case renters fail to collect their car within half an hour of the agreed pick up time there will be deemed a ‘no-show’. Our staff will only hold the vehicle for this length of time without prior notice from yourself. We therefore suggest that in case you know in advance that you are to be delayed you should contact us to inform us. Zetacars does not guarantee that your car will remain available after this initial half an hour period.
Zetacars reserves the right to not return the advance payment.

Extension of Rental Period

If the renter wants to keep the vehicle longer than the period agreed on the contract, he has to contact Zetacars in order to extend his rental agreement upon availability.
